Description

Join us this summer at the Brilliant Resilience Summer Camp, a transformative program designed specifically for rising 3rd to 9th graders.

The Brilliant Resilience Summer Camp is the result of collaborative effort involving a coalition of multiple community based  organizations--Citizens for a Sustainable Future, Earth Garden, Tallahassee Food Network, Life is Like a Rubik's Cube, Justice is Us Project, and M.A.D.E. Fitness. Rooted in the heart of the local community, our mission is to nurture and develop resilience among our youth, helping to cultivate a growth mindset, reduce juvenile crime rates, and ultimately empower youth  in Leon County’s African American Communities to become the leaders that we need.

Our goal is to fortify the resilience of our youth, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to identify and solve social problems facing their communities.

Our mission is to cultivate future leaders in our local Black community. By focusing on cultural development and social-emotional learning, we strive to enhance students' academic and social outlooks. We are committed to fostering an environment that celebrates and strengthens the brilliant resilience of our Black youth.

Here's what we offer:

Culturally Relevant Learning: Our curriculum, crafted by professional educators and scholars, integrates the history, culture, and experiences of African American communities to foster a sense of pride and belonging.

Social-Emotional Development: We focus on key life skills like self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making, all crucial for becoming effective community leaders.

Nutritious Meals: To fuel our leaders of tomorrow, we provide breakfast and lunch to all students.

Daily Physical Fitness: We prioritize physical health with self-paced workouts and outdoor activities.
